Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Church - Requiem / Hokehankist Request

Please fill out and submit this form to request a requiem / hokehankist for a loved one

If we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and the living (Rom 14: 8-9).

It is important to remember our brothers and sisters who are reposed/asleep in the Lord and offer regular petitions for them seeking God’s mercy and that they be remembered in the living Body of Christ as has been the holy tradition of the Apostolic Church universally.

Requiem or Hokehankisd services are typically conducted at the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy (Badarak) on the closest Sunday of the 40th Day of passing of the deceased, and on the yearly anniversary or on memorial days following Major Feasts.

Requiems can not be offered on the Sunday so those feasts, Palm Sunday, Easter, Christmas (January 6), Transfiguration, Exaltation, Assumption (check with office for movable dates or the church calendar. Click: Liturgical Calendar (Lectionary) – VEMKAR
